PROBLEMS WITH PROPHECY

Second Thessalonians 2.1-2

” Second Thessalonians 2.1-2 Worry and fear about the future can be cleared up if, in two areas, you who know Christ will simply pay attention to the Bible.

1A. IN THE AREA OF DEFINITION, PAY ATTENTION! (2.1) Paul wanted his readers to pay attention while he defined the situation they were concerned about.

1B. Let’s examine their fears

2B. Let’s examine the facts

2A. IN THE AREA OF DECLARATION, PAY ATTENTION! In verse 2, Paul declares both the cause and the effect of their problem. Their problem, of course, was not believing the Bible (First Thessalonians 4.15-18).

1B. Notice, first, the effects of their unbelief

2B. Now, notice what caused them to not believe what Paul had previously written to them, what causes us to not believe the Word of God?
